There was a time when finger-joint products did not stand up to the tests of quality and durability. This is no longer the case. Over the years finger-joint technology has improved. In order to meet the highest standards of quality and durability, Wightman manufactures its Custom-Joined products in the following ways:

• We use a construction grade finger-joint.
  Our joints have fingers that are 5/8” long, rather than the customary 3/8”.
• We use the appropriate glue so that your product can withstand the elements.
  The glues that are used have dramatically improved for both interior and exterior application.
• Our products are milled to within 1000’s of an inch.
  If our machinery is off by even 2/1000’s of an inch, we will know it and correct it so that you have the best fitting joint possible.
• Our Custom-Joined products are hydraulically pressed with varying pressure.
  Pressure depends on the specie of wood.
• Our Custom-Joined products are milled using our through-feed straightening moulder.
  The ensures that the finished product is straight.
